A fanzine, a review that was too long and ill-thought out for letterboxed.

// Edited out of this but still ruminating on the role of Hammer Horror at the time and Wicker Man as a response to it. The role of its contemporaries like ‘The Blood on Satan's Claw’ and ‘Witchfinder General’ and how much more demonising they are of provinciality and the desire for it. How it feels like they’re different responses to hippie counterculture's embrace of neopaganism and romanticisation of the land. Romanticisation or demonisation as the choices. I feel Wicker man walks the line between them well, the actuality of it. This is a whole other essay that rests on actually knowing what I'm talking about (a work in progress).
